Adventure Bay Water Treatment Plant Interim Upgrade

The Adventure Bay water storage tank situated behind Town Hall

The Bruny Island Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at Adventure Bay has been assessed as part of the Water Services Optimisation Program. It was identified as one of the systems requiring an upgrade, to ensure reliability of the water quality and security of supply.

The objective of this upgrade is to install and replace old instruments along with implementing remote monitoring with real time data. A temporary work site will be established in December 2019 and commissioning of the upgrade should be finalised by March 2020.

Other project outcomes will include:

  • Upgrading associated electrical components, to meet current Australian and TasWater standards.
  • Installing a new control system for measuring and controlling the water usage by users and distributors of the water supply.
